The forest is my happy place. A place of peace and possibilities, reflection and rejuvenation. I'm especially inspired by the area around my home in the Blue Ridge foothills of north Georgia and the old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest.
I enjoy the challenge of capturing the chaos and textures of forests and mountain streams. I started out painting in watercolor, but much of my recent work is done with thicker paint (oil, gouache, or casein) using a palette knife.
Painting is my 2nd career, after retiring from the field of Information Technology. I'm thrilled to have discovered a pursuit I love that's much harder than it looks. It'll keep me happily learning the rest of my life.
